Automotive tops the list of most active categories in Hispanic online in 2007

Despite weak sales, the automotive category topped the list of most active advertiser categories on Hispanic online sites and portals according to an analysis of 2007 HispanicWebMonitor competitive data.

The auto category accounted for 266 campaigns or nearly 10% (9.9%) of active online campaigns on Hispanic websites in 2007.  This was down slightly from a 12.6% share in 2006 and a peak of 14.4% share in 2005.

The Telecommunications, Non-Profits, Insurance, and Credit-Card categories rounded up the top five categories.  Overall, there were 2,679 campaigns tracked by the HispanicWebMonitor service in 2007 - an increase of 125% from the 1,193 campaigns tracked in 2006 (part of this increase is due to an increase in the number of sites tracked in the HispanicWebMonitor service).
